Direct to Text-A-Librarian Service
The texting program is intended for simple, quick reference questions, up to 160 characters, that can be answered with a brief response.
Secretary of State and State Librarian Jesse White says the new texting service offers another way to meet patrons’ information needs. The state library already offers reference and information services in person, by e-mail, telephone or fax.
From the Official Announcement:
Each year our reference librarians answer approximately 8,000 questions. Many of the inquiries are in-depth questions asked by state employees. The “Text a Librarian” service is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
